ERP Business Products Classification

• ESREAL ERP manages four types of products that covers all kinds of commercial and industrial activities:
1. Purchased: Physical objects acquired from third parties and to be used in sales, or as components in manufacturing or supplies for services and projects.
2. Manufactured: Physical objects produced by the Company and used for sales. Its cost is calculated adding the purchased components registered in the parts list plus the registered labor cost.
3. Services: Activities executed and sold by the Company in a normally repetitive way and whose accounting is relatively simple.
4. Projects: Activities executed and sold by the Company in a normally unique way and whose accounting is relatively complex.







• Registration of the products is achieved by grouping them in two levels:
1. In the first level the products are classified in Groups for accounting reports and/or tax purposes, following local regulations or company reporting policies.
2. The second level brings together the products of the same Group that share the same generic name in a Commercial Class.
• The individual identification of a product may be either a unique alphanumerical code, a unique phrase, or a combination of both. A unique phrase may facilitate training and the learning curve of users.
• The trademarks or brands, of optional use, are recorded separately and assigned to each product as an additional property.
• The product description in documents is formed combining the commercial class, the brand, and the product individual identification. The way they are combined is configurable according to company requirements.
